According to Sport Reports Barcelona midfielder, Ivan Rakitic could be on his way out of the club to join Premier League side, Chelsea at the end of the season.
The sports site reported that the Blues are willing to sign the midfielder in the summer to fill the gap created by Cesc Fabregas.
The former Arsenal captain left Stamford Bridge a few days back to sign for Monaco.
The Catalan newspaper claimed that Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri, has already expressed his desire to bring in a new midfielder to provide cover and competition for Jorginho.
Rakitic is expected to battle out with Barcelona new signing, Frenkie de Jong who joined the club from Ajax for a deal worth €75 million (£65 million)
The former Ajax midfielder signed a five-year deal with Barcelona last week.
Asked if De Jong’s arrival could force him out from Barcelona, Rakitic said at the Mundo Deportivo gala on Monday night: “That’s a good question for the ‘Mister’ [manager] or the ‘Presi [president].
“I am 30-year-old and I am in the best moment of my career. I want to enjoy football and enjoy Barca.”
