Supreme Court Delivers Judgement On Onnoghen

CCT Gives Condition For Continuing Onnoghen’s Trial

After the suspension of Walter Onnoghen, Chief Justice of Nigeria, the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) today adjourned his trial indefinitely.

During the CCT’s sitting today, the Judge said that the trial remains adjourned pending the determination of the application at the appeal court.

Naija News recalls that the federal government is prosecuting Onnoghen at the CCT for alleged false declaration of assets.

Onnoghen had through his legal team, filed an application at the appeal court challenging the tribunal’s jurisdiction to sit over the case.

Last week, the appellate court ordered the tribunal to stay proceedings pending the hearing and determination of the CJN’s application.

Meanwhile, Acting Cheif Justice, Tanko Ahmed has resumed duties at the Supreme Court, Naija News reports.
