Cardiff President Mehmet Dalman said on Wednesday that the club had offered Italian-Argentinean striker Emiliano Sala to take care of the trip between Nantes and Cardiff, in which he disappeared, but that the attacker had preferred to take “his own provisions “.

The plane of Sala, just transferred from Nantes to Cardiff, disappeared in the night of Monday to Tuesday during a trip between these two cities, over the Channel, near the Anglo-Norman island of Guernsey .

“We talked to the player and asked if he wanted us to arrange for his flight, which, to be honest, would have been a commercial flight,” said Dalman, according to news reports from the news website. WalesOnline.

“He refused and made his own arrangements,” he assured. “I can not tell you who organized the flight because I do not know at this point – but it certainly was not Cardiff City”.

Dalman also said club coach Neil Warnock was “in shock”. “Neil is human and he is affected just as much as we are,” he said.

“We are still praying,” he added, indicating that Cardiff City would be “involved in the investigation”. “We will not give up until we have all the facts.”
