Chelsea Close To Signing Higuain From Juventus

English premier league club, Chelsea, have reportedly reached an agreement with Juventus over the transfer of Argentine striker, Gonzalo Higuain.

The striker’s loan deal with AC Milan will be called short should the two clubs finally reach a definite agreement on the transfer of the veteran striker.

The Blues have made Higuain a major January transfer target, Naija News recalls and with this development, are close to securing their target.

The deal will include an option for Chelsea to buy the striker outright for £32.5 million (€36m) upon the completion of a six-month loan, with Juventus able to get a series of performance related bonuses on the basis of goals scored and appearances by the striker.

The 31-year-old Higuain was left on the bench for Milan’s Supercoppa Italiana loss to Juventus on Wednesday evening in Saudi Arabia, and had earlier missed a photo shoot session with the club.

But while the Argentine’s move to London is almost a done deal, the move is expected to be delayed until Alvaro Morata’s future at Chelsea is finalized.

Atletico Madrid remain in pole position to land Morata’s signature.
