2023: APC, PDP Should Zone Presidential Tickets To South East - Uzodinma

Engr. Ignatius Edet, the Chairman, Media Publicity and Image Making of President Muhammadu Buhari’s campaign groups in Akwa Ibom State, have left the All Progressive Congress (APC) along side his 5000 supporters for the People Democratic party (PDP).

The former speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, made this disclosure during the flag-off of Governor Udom Emmanuel’s re-election campaign, at the Uyo township stadium.

Edet, who described PDP as a party that is sensitive to the wishes and aspiration of members, added that he left the APC because of high handedness of some party chieftains including a Senior aide to Buhari, Senator Ita Enang who with other chieftains, according to him hand-picked candidates of the party in the last primaries.

“I’m happy to come back home. The things that made me to leave PDP are no more there.

“When I was in APC, some people tried to play God. They imposed candidates on us. Sen. Ita Enang thinks he’s God. He tries to impose things on our people, but he has forgotten that There is only one God.

“I have the privilege of bringing over 5000 supporters of mine to support Udom Emmanuel in 2019” he said.

Mr Paul Ekpo, the state chairman of the PDP, while receiving the new members to the party, appreciated the former speaker for thinking it wise to come back home to his former party.

He assured that the decampee will be tried fairly as there were enough political opportunity for every member to strive.
