EFCC Arraigns Doyin Okupe Before Federal High Court

Dr Doyin Okupe, was on Monday, arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission before the Abuja Federal High Court in Maitama.

Recall that Naija News reported that the media adviser to the Peoples Democratic Party presidential campaign, Doyin Okupe was arrested by the EFCC in Abuja, in December.

According to Channels TV, Okupe, who happens to be the former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, was brought before Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu, on Monday, in Abuja.

He was arraigned alongside with two companies, Value Trust Investment Ltd and Abrahams Telecoms Ltd, over allegations of fraud.

According to a statement from the anti-graft agency, Okupe was charged with 59 counts bordering on “money laundering and criminal diversion of funds” to the tune of N702 million.
