Buhari approves recruitment of 6,000 policemen

President Muhammadu Buhari is currently meeting behind closed doors with the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris in the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The meeting commenced around 4.30p.m, after the president returned to the villa from an event he attended at the Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja.

Naija News recalls that the duo meet on Friday 4th of January, 2019 on controversies arising from the romour that his tenure as IG might be extended.

The IG. is expected to retire from service on attainment of the mandatory 35 years in service on the 15th of January, 2019.

Idris was appointed by President Buhari on 21 March 2016 to replace Solomon Arase, who retired from the police force on 21 June 2016.
