1. APC Governors Absent At Party’s Inaugural Presidential Campaign Meeting

All Progressives Congress (APC) governors did not attend the inaugural meeting of the party’s presidential campaign council at the state house, in Abuja today.

The governors who were expected to coordinate their respective state did not show up at the meeting.

2. I have spent over N200 million from my personal fund on presidential campaign – Moghalu

Kingsley Moghalu, Young Progressives Party (YPP) presidential candidate, says over N200 million of his “personal money” has been spent on his bid to emerge Nigeria’s president.

He explained that he does not have a political godfather and his campaign is going to be funded through voluntary contribution of its members and the public.

3. Certificate forgery case against Gov. Bindow of Adamawa State stalled as Judge withdraws

Abdulaziz Anka, the Judge who is sitting over the case of certificate forgery against Governor Jibrilla Bindow of Adamawa State has withdrawn, explaining that he was no longer comfortable with continuing with it.

Anka announced his withdrawal from the case “on personal grounds” saying he would return the case file to the chief judge of the Federal High Court for re-assignment to another judge.

4. Boko Haram: UN withdraws over 260 aid workers from Borno State

Due to the incessant and continuous attacks of Boko Haram sect. in Borno state, not less than 260 aid workers have been withdrawn by the United Nations from three local governments in the state.

Samantha Newport, UN spokesperson in Nigeria, in a statement yesterday explained that the activities of the terrorist sect. has affected its humanitarian service in the region.

5. PDP National Chairman, Uche Secondus, challenges Tinubu to declare his source of wealth

Uche Secondus, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),national chairman, has said that some politicians in Lagos are claiming to fight corruption when their source of income is questionable.

Although Secondus did not mention any names while speaking at a rally in Nasarawa state on Thursday, he said these unnamed politicians “today are sinking in stolen wealth and talking of corruption.”

6. We Did Not Endorse Atiku – Ohanaeze

The apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation,Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has said contrary to rumours flying around, it did not endorse Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Through its deputy national publicity secretary, Chuks Ibegbu, the group issued the denial while speaking at a press conference in Enugu on Thursday.

7. Minimum Wage: Why Labour Is Not Part Of Buhari’s Technical Committee – Wabba

Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President, Ayuba Wabba has explained why labour is not involved in the Technical Committee on national minimum wage freshly inaugurated by President Muhammadu Buhari.

NLC President, Ayuba Wabba said the Minister of Labour & Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, has already assured Labour that “the committee was an in-house affair of the government and has nothing to do with Labour”.

8. Many injured as train derails in Lagos state

Several people have been reported injured following a train accident at Ashade Ram Market in Agege area of Lagos State, Nigeria’s commercial city.

The train which was coming from Ijoko, Ogun State, and heading to Ebute Metta, Lagos, derailed at Mangoro/ Agege area.

It was gathered that three couches were affected by the accident, which occurred around 7 am (Nigerian time) on Thursday.

9. 2019 Election: Saraki dynasty very strong, you will soon see – Saraki

Senate President Bukola Saraki has described the anti-corruption war of the President Muhammadu Buhari government as ” more of propaganda than reality”.

The number three citizen of the nation who also anticipated the forthcoming general elections also noted that the Saraki Dynasty is still very strong and “…..you will see that when the result comes.”

10. Troops neutralize Boko Haram insurgence in Borno state

The Nigerian Army has recorded another mile-stone in its fight against insurgency in the North -East, as the Special Forces Command of the Army neutralized Boko Haram terrorists/ISWAP from Zare, Kukawa, Cross Kauwa and Gudumbal in Borno North.

Brig.-Gen. Sani Usman, the spokesman of the Army, while confirming the development in a press statement, said the army achieved the feet with the support of the Air Force and Navy.
