Court Nullifies Result Of APC’s Governorship Primaries In Rivers State

A Federal High Court, Port Harcourt, earlier today has nullified the direct and indirect primary elections conducted by two factions of the All Progressives Congress (APC)in Rivers state.

Delivering judgment, Justice Kolawole Omotosho, said both factions of the APC acted in disrespect of a pending suit before a Port Harcourt High Court.

Biafra: Umahi Raises Alarm Over Alleged Plans By IPOB To Kidnap And Kill Five Governors

The governor of Ebonyi state, David Umahi, has alleged that some members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) have plans to kidnap five Southeast governors.

The Governor further alleged that the plan of the Biafra fighters is to kill themselves and their kidnapped victims after they may have collected ransom.

ASUU Strike: Ngige Appeals To University Lecturers To End Strike

Labour and Employment Minister, Chris Ngige has appealed to teachers under the striking Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU)  to show mercy on students by calling off their strike.

Naija News recalls that members of ASUU began a nationwide strike since November, last year, over some disagreement between the union and the Federal Government.

A former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has said that Governor Kashim Shettima’s tears would continue to flow until he opens up on the role he allegedly played in the abduction of Chibok schoolgirls.

Amaechi Calls Lagos State, A ‘Glorified Village’ In New Audio

Yet another audio clip of Rotimi Amaechi, Director-General of President Muhammadu Buhari’s campaign organisation, has surfaced in which the embattled Minister of Transport allegedly describes Lagos as a ‘glorified village’.

According to the audio tape which was released by Phrank Shaibu, an aide of Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),  Amaechi said there was very little infrastructure in Lagos, especially water and roads, while lamenting the spate of traffic jams in the state.

ASUU Strike: FG And Union Members ‘Reach’ Agreement

Striking members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and the federal government appear to have reached a truce following their meeting on Monday in Abuja.

Speaking after the meeting, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, said majority of demands by the union have been met, including the release of N15.4 billion for payment of salary shortfalls.
