The lawmaker representing Kogi West district, Senator Dino Melaye, is presently in the custody of the Nigeria Police Force, Naija News Understands.
I said it earlier today on the @RoyalFM951 News Rendevouz Show, @dino_melaye can't do it for long. He will surrender. You can't be more powerful than our FG; Not in Nigeria. Not even when you have already played into their hands. https://t.co/Me7pU7R90z

A source at the Force Headquarters in Abuja confirmed this on Friday.
The police carried out a search of the lawmaker’s residence in the nation’s capital while he was taken to the office of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) in Guzape.
Although Senator Melaye had earlier said he was not in the house, the police said he opened the door to the residence himself at about 3 pm today after which he was taken into custody.
Naija News also learnt that lawmaker, is currently at the head office of the special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Abuja, in the company of some lawmakers and his lawyers.
Police had said Melaye was wanted for a case of criminal conspiracy and attempted culpable homicide committed on 19 July, 2018.
Spokesman for the police Jimoh Moshood had alleged that Melaye and “his armed thugs” shot and wounded one Sgt. Danjuma Saliu, who was attached to 37 Mobile Force (PMF) on stop and search duty along Aiyetoro Gbede, Mopa Road in Kogi State.
But the senator has since denied the allegation.
