President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with the government and people of Jigawa over the death of former Governor of Kano State, retired Air Vice Marshal Hamza Abdullahi.

In a statement by the president’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina in Abuja and made available to Naija news, Buhari commiserated with family and friends of the deceased and Hadejia community.
Naija News recalls the former governor also served the country as Minister of Works and Housing, and Minister of Federal Capital Territory.
It is with sadness I received news of the loss of AVM Hamza Abdullahi, former governor of Kano State and one-time minister of FCT. It was under his watch as minister that Abuja Phase 1 was constructed. May Allah SWT grant him Aljannah Firdaus. Ameen.

Meanwhile ,The President believes the sacrifices and good heartedness of the former governor will always be remembered, most remarkably in revitalizing the Expanded Programme of Immunization for women and children in Kano, and working assiduously to ensure successful movement of the nation’s capital city from Lagos to Abuja.
As a military officer, the President affirms that Abdullahi was disciplined, focused and fully committed to the unity and progress of Nigeria. President Buhari prays that God will comfort his family and grant him eternal rest.
