Army Kills Three Female Suicide Bombers, Recover Weapons In Borno State

Army Records Another Victory Against Boko Haram

The Nigerian Army has revealed that its troops currently fighting Boko Haram insurgents in the North East have killed three female suicide bombers in Borno state.

According to information made available to Naija News by Col. Onyema Nwachukwu, Deputy Director Public Relations Theatre Command Operation LAFIYA DOLE, the encounter occurred on Sunday, 30th December around Kubtara village in Dikwa Local Government Area of Borno State.

“Troops of 22 Brigade Garrison deployed in Operation LAFIYA DOLE on Sunday 30th December 2018, encountered and neutralised three female suicide bombers, while on patrol around Kubtara village in Dikwa Local Government Area of Borno State. The troops also recovered one Rocket Propelled Grenade and a suicide vest at the scene of the encounter.”

“The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai, has further commended the troops for their successful exploits and encouraged them to be more daring, vigilant and steadfast, as they clear the remnants of Boko Haram terrorists,” the statement on Monday read.

As earlier reported by Naija News, the Nigerian Army has in recent times, renewed efforts targeted at flushing out the Boko Haram terrorists from their hiding places particularly in Borno and Yobe states where they have launched recent attacks.
