1. Miyetti Allah endorses Buhari for second term

The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, has endorsed and adopted President Muhammadu Buhari as its candidate for the 2019 presidential elections.

It was gathered that over 2000 members of the association were present at the group’s 5th General Meeting held in Abuja on Thursday where the endorsement took place.

2. Army Confirm Death Of Naval Personnel As Troops Repel Boko Haram In Borno State

The Nigerian Army has confirmed the death of a Navy personnel when suspected Boko Haram terrorists attacked headquarters of 7 Brigade Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), Baga, Borno State on Wednesday.

Army spokesperson, Brig. Gen Sani Usman, who confirmed the development, also revealed that troops are already in hot pursuit to clear the terrorists hiding in Baga and its environs.

3. Police postpones parade of suspected killers of Alex Badeh

The Nigeria Police Force has announced the postponement of the planned parading of the suspected killers of late former Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh to journalists.

The force had on Wednesday said it had arrested alleged killers of Baden which it planned to present to newsmen on Thursday in Abuja.

4. NCC is making Nigeria lose N600bn annualy – Falana

Human rights lawyer and activist, Femi Falana (SAN), has accused the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) of causing a revenue leakage of N600bn per year to the Nigerian economy.

This, he attributed to the failure of the commission to implement the collection of NCC’s 2.5 per cent annual operating levy and other government taxes from the Nigerian telecommunication industry.

5. Niger Delta militants threaten to disrupt 2019 elections

A Niger Delta militant group identified as War Against Niger Delta Exploitation (WANDE) has threatened to disrupt the 2019 elections except the federal government meets its demands on the development of the Niger Delta region.

In a communique signed by its spokesman, ‘General’ Nomukeme, and issued in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, the group threatened to begin hostilities should the federal government fail to prove its commitment to the development of the Niger Delta region.

6. NNPC confirms withdrawal of $1.05b from NLNG account

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has confirmed and explained why it withdrew $1.05billion from the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) dividend account, stressing that Section 7 of the NNPC Act empowers it to make such withdrawals.

It said the cash was used to support importation of premium motor spirit (PMS) or petrol, which is highly subsidized at the rate of N145 per litre, the current pump price in Nigeria.

7. It is the destiny of Buhari to clean up PDP’s mess – Garba Shehu

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu says if the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP wants to make family the issue in the coming elections, the APC would gladly accept the challenge. “Let this be the subject for 2019 election,” he told State House Correspondents in an interaction on Wednesday.

Reacting to various comments by several organs of the opposition party on remarks made by the President on views publicly expressed by his wife, Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari in an interview, the presidential spokesman said questions raised of the President by the PDP in regard to his wife only amounted to an own goal.

8. Atiku would be in prison by now if the system were working, Festus Keyamo says

The Director of Strategic Communications to President Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Organization, Festus Keyamo has once again berated the Presidential Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar over his source of wealth.

He was reacting to Atiku’s statement on the assertion by President buhari that the system in Nigeria allows corruption to thrive because the system is slow in tackling corruption.

9. Unknown gunmen attack and kill villagers in Plateau state

Five villagers have been killed in an attack on Barkin Ladi local government area of Plateau state in a late night ambush, by unknown gunmen.

According to Mathias Tyopev, state police spokesman, the incident happened yesterday at Pugu village around 9pm.

10. Igbo group accuses 2019 presidential candidates of failure to present reliable agenda for the region

As Nigeria gets closer to the 2019 general elections, the Igbo World Assembly has declared that the various presidential candidates were yet to convince Ndigbo on why they should cast votes for them.

It was learnt that this stand was made known by Dr. Nwachukwu Anakwenze, the President of the Igbo World Assembly.

11. Gov. Yari supports declaration of state of emergency in Zamfara state

Zamfara state governor, Abdulaziz Yari has said he would have taken up arms to face bandits causing problems in the state if his office allowed it.

This he said while speaking with newsmen in the state capital, Gusau today.

He urged President Muhammadu Buhari to declare a state of emergency on the state while warning politicians against politicising the security situation.
