How NCC Is Making Nigeria Lose N600bn Revenue Every Year

Human rights lawyer and activist, Femi Falana (SAN), has accused the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) of causing a revenue leakage of N600bn per year to the Nigerian economy.

This, he attributed to the failure of the commission to implement the collection of NCC’s 2.5 per cent annual operating levy and other government taxes from the Nigerian telecommunication industry.

A socio-political group under the aegis of Akwa Ibom Good Governance, has tackled the Senator representing Akwa Ibom North-West, Godswill Akpabio, for the failure of the Ibom Science Project to see the light of the day after about N5.3bn was invested in it.

Sen. Akpabio had cited alleged mismanagement of the project’s fund and the proximity of its location to erosion-prone environment as reasons for abandoning it.
