AC Milan appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against UEFA’s sanctions against it, the Lombard club said, suspected by the European body of failing to comply with the rules of financial fair play (FPF).

“AC Milan, after taking note of the decision of the Club Financial Control Body, expresses its disappointment and announces that it will appeal this decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne”, announces in a statement the Serie A club on its website.

On 14 December, UEFA decided to exclude the Milan club from one of the competitions organized by the European body in 2022-23 or 2023-24 “if it is not in balance on 30 June 2021 “.

The Rossoneri will also have 12 million euros in revenues from the Europa League 2018-19 retained, and will not be able to register more than 21 players in case of participation in UEFA competitions in the seasons 2019-20 and 2020-21, added UEFA.
