The Wolves dominated the game with more than 70 per cent possession, but struggled to create dangerous opportunities against a Fulham, led by Italy’s Claudio Ranieri, who was consistently well-positioned in defensive terms.

The first half was dominated by the outsiders and nothing changed in the second, but in the 74th minute, they were the places to score, by Sessegnon, who took advantage of a rebound, after an incomplete defense of Rui Patrício, following a free.

On the down side, Wolverhmapton were even more complicated but continued to search for the goal with five minutes remaining, with Ivan Cavaleiro centering on the left and Hélder Costa scoring on the right for Saiss to score.
