Alleged Corruption: Ex-Kwara Gov, Ahmed Speaks On Visit To EFCC

Former councillors in Kwara state have on Monday expressed their displeasure about the failure of the state government to pay their entitlement.

The ex-councillors have threatened to renown their membership of the ruling party in the state, the People Democratic party (PDP) if the government fails to do he need.

The councillors served between 2013 and 2016 across 16 Local Government Areas of the state.

Mr. Bisi Oloyede, the spokesperson of the group revealed to The Nation that the group have tried to resolve the issue amicably, all to no avail, despite the promises made to them by the Governor, AbdulFatah Ahmed

“The Senate President, Bukola Saraki who is also the leader of the party has equally promised to find lasting solution to this problem, but yet unresolved,” he added.

The aggrieved ex- councillors regretted their unalloyed loyalty to both the party and Senate President, threatening to go to any length if their issues are not quickly addressed.

He warned that if no step is taking to address the issue, they may be forced to take drastic actions against the wish of the party.

He further urged the governor to, as a matter of urgency look into the matter to paying all their entitlements within the shortest reasonable period of time to retain their membership in the party.
