The World Is Watching Us – Buhari Tells ‘Booing’ Lawmakers

In an attempt to calm booing members of the national assembly during his presentation of the 2019 budget, President Muhammadu Buhari said the whole world was watching.

Naija News reports that the president’s presentation was plagued and almost silenced by booing of aggrieved lawmakers and clapping of supporters of the President alike.

President Buhari Makes Allowance For New Minimum Wage In 2019 Budget

President Muhammadu Buhari has disclosed that a bill that will ensure the implementation of the new minimum wage for Nigerian Workers would soon be sent to the National Assembly.

The President made this known while presenting the 2019 budget estimates before the joint session of the National Assembly on Wednesday.

FG Declares Public Holiday For Christmas And New Year

Tuesday, 25th, Wednesday 26th December, 2018 and Tuesday 1st January 2019 have been declared as public holidays by the federal government to mark the Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year celebrations, respectively.

Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, made the declaration on Wednesday on behalf of the Federal Government in a statement signed by the ministry’s Director of Press, Mohammed Manga.

Excess Crude Account Drops To $631m As FG Withdraws $1.3b In 3 Weeks

The balance in Nigeria’s excess crude account has reduced to $631m according to figures released on Wednesday by Mahmoud Dutse, permanent secretary in the ministry of finance.

The balance in the ECA was put at $2.319b as of November 25, 2018 when the FAAC committee meeting was held to allocate revenue for that month, Naija News recalls.

Okorocha Speaks On Why Imo State Can No Longer Vote For APC

Imo state Governor, Rochas Okorocha has stated that imo state people would find it difficult to vote the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate in the state, Senator Hope Uzodinma.

Okorocha’s claim were allegedly necessitated by a report by Uzodinma stating that Okorocha would be sanctioned for not supporting him.

The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has disbanded  the state executives of the party in Imo and Ogun States.

Alex Badeh’s Family Deny Alleged Plans To Miss Burial

Growing concerns exists over the circumstances that surrounded yesterday’s murder of the former Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh.

All his four security aides who were with him when he was shot were left unhurt, although his driver reportedly got shot in the hand and his farm manager, identified only as Engr. Joel was abducted by the alleged assassins.

The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned its dissolution by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.

APC Speaks On Sanctioning Amosun, Okorocha For Anti-Party Activities

Indications from the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress shows it has resolved to query the Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun;and his Imo State counterpart, Rochas Okorocha, for anti-party activities.

Naija News learnt that the decision was part of resolutions reached at the National Working Committee meeting held in Abuja on Tuesday where the state, local government and ward executives committees in the two states were dissolved.

PDP Accuses Buhari, APC Of Plans To Use CBN Money To Finance 2019 Campaigns

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has accused President Muhammadu Buhariand the All Progressives Congress, APC, of “plotting to fleece Nigerians through the extortion of N1.2 billion from poor beneficiaries of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN,’s Anchor Borrowers’ Programme, to fund Mr. President’s ill-fated 2019 re-election bid.”

The PDP alleged that the APC plans to siphon and launder money by using a phony Anchor Borrowers Farmers’ Association which has fake N12 million members.

Ogun State APC Governorship Candidate, Dapo Abiodun In Certificate Scandal

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ogun State, Adedapo Abiodun, has been caught in a messy scandal that could see him disqualified as the flag-bearer of the ruling party in the February 2019 gubernatorial election.

Mr Abiodun, a renowned oil and gas executive from Ijebu Remo, is facing allegations that he evaded national service after graduating from the university in the 1980s, and claimed in his nomination form that he does not have a university degree in order to deceive his party and the Independent National Electoral Commission.
