Kwankwaso Not Stoned In Kogi – Campaign Group

Kwankwaso Reportedly Unhappy In PDP

Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, a former governor of Kano state, has reportedly concluded plans to return to the All Progressive Congress from the opposition People’s Democratic Party.

The Senator, who represents Kano central in the upper legislative house in Abuja, is also said to have been sending people to the presidency to prepare grounds for his return to the APC.

Naija News recalls Kwankwaso was part of the senators who in July 2018, announced their decision to defect to the PDP in a gale of defections which shook the country’s polity.

Upon his defection, Kwankwaso obtained the PDP presidential forms and contested for the party’s ticket for 2019 presidency but came a distant fourth in a primary finally won by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Moving on from the events from the PDP primaries, some impeccable sources in the Kwankwassiyya camp have told Daily Times that the Senator is not happy with some developments in the PDP and feels uncomfortable.

The sources added that part of the grievances expressed by Kwankwaso is the refusal of the PDP’s Presidential candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to release funds for campaign in kano, explaining that Kwankwaso had allegedly submitted a proposal of over N1 Billion to Atiku.

Kwankwaso is also said to be angry, Atiku didn’t appoint him campaign coordinator in the North-west, considering his wealth of experience.

” I can confirm to you that Oga is not happy about so many decisions that are not going his way, I don’t see him staying in PDP”.

The source however revealed that the presidency is insisting Kwankwaso must repair the relationship between himself and the Kano state Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje before he can return to the APC fold.

This has however not had a good landing with Kwankwaso who is said to be sad with the condition given to him as it means condescending low to plead with a man he feels betrayed him after he helped put him in power.

Kwankwaso’s political group, Kwankwassiyya, our correspondent gathered is also experiencing a worrying quiet calm following the alleged imposition of Kwankwaso’s brother in-law, Alhaji Abba Kabiru Yusuf as the PDP governorship candidate in the state.

A development that has reportedly forced some of his supporters including General Idris Bello Danbazzau (rtd), and Hajiya Balaraba Ibrahim to join the APC.

Other members who might be on their way back to the APC as earlier reported by Naija News, include the national chairman of Kwankwassiyya movement former Secretary to the State Government Rabiu Suleiman Bichi, former national treasurer of the APC Alhaji Bala Gwagwarwa, former Deputy Governor Hafiz Abubakar among others.
