2019 Elections: Atiku Reveals What He’ll Do For Women If Elected

Mr. Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party has vowed that he will give woman a priority in his administration if he wins come 2019. The former Vice President made his intention for women known when he received an interactive session with Nigerian Women on Wednesday in Abuja.

 Theresa May Wins Confidence Vote

British Prime Minister Theresa May has has won a vote of confidence in her leadership vote with a majority of 83, with 63% of Conservative lawmakers backing her and 37% voting against her.

The vote was initiated by 48 of her MPs dissatisfied by at her Brexit policy, which they said is contrary to the 2016 referendum result.

Doyin Okupe Regains Freedom From EFCC

Doyin Okupe, aide to former president Goodluck Jonathan, has been released from custody by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Okupe was arrested by the EFCC last week over allegations of cybercrime and has now been released on bail

President Muhammadu BuhariImo State Governor, Rochas OkorochaOhanaeze Ndigbo and prominent Igbo sons have expressed sadness over the death of former president general of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

The Igbo leader, as earlier reported by Naija News, died at about 7pm on Tuesday in his Nnewi country home, Anambra State.

The immediate past Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir David Lawal was spotted at the Presidential Villa, on Wednesday, December 12.

According to Daily Trust, the disgraced former SGF was among dignitaries who graced the launch of a Together Nigeria organized by the Buhari Support Organization (BSO).

FIRS Generates N5 Trillion So Far In 2018

Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS)‘s executive chairman, Tunde Fowler, has noted that the service has generated N5 trillion in 50 weeks of 2018. He said the agency, at the current pace, could make N5.3 trillion at the end of the year.

He said if this happens, it will be the highest revenue ever generated by FIRS in history.

Police Prevent Suicide Bomb Attempt By Teenager In Maiduguri

Few weeks to Christmas, the Police in Borno State said its men had successfully foiled a lone suicide bomb attack on Wednesday night in Maiduguri.

A peaceful protest was today held by followers of Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky to mark three years of Zaria massacre and El-Zakzaky’s detention by the Nigerian government.

The protesters, who stormed the federal secretariat in Abuja on Wednesday, chanting anti-government songs and various placards with inscriptions on them, demanded the release of their leader, who has been in government detention since December 2015.
