Atiku Absence From Peace Accord Ceremony Caused By Communication Lapse – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has regretted and blamed the failure of its Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar to show up for the peace accord to communication lapse.

Kola Ologbondiyan, The National Publicity Secretary of the Party, on Tuesday Night said that the party will look into the communication gap between it and the National Peace Committee, chaired by General Abdusalami Abubakar, a former Nigerian leader.

Electoral Act Bill: Peter Obi’s Camp Urge National Assembly To Override Buhari’s Decision

A Group, the Peter Obi Support Network, POSN, has urged the National Assembly to come to the rescue of the country’s democracy by immediately override President Muhammadu Buhari’s refusal to sign the amended Electoral Act.

Buhari, on Thursday, December 6, 2018, declined assent to the bill for the fourth time, saying that he is “concerned that passing a new electoral bill this far into the electoral process for the 2019 general election which commenced under the 2015 Electoral Act, could create some uncertainty about the applicable legislation to govern the process.”

Jonathan’s Claims On US Interference in 2015 Polls a “mischaracterisation” – US Govt.

The United States Consulate in Nigeria has responded to the allegation by Former President Goodluck Jonathan in his book “My Transition Hour” that a former United State President caused his loss at the 2015 polls.

Jonathan accused former American President, Barack Obama of interfering in the 2015 election that produced President Muhammadu Buhari.

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has challenged President Muhammadu Buhari to live up to his integrity status by allowing an open investigation of his associates and close relatives, who were mentioned in alleged looting of public resources.

The opposition party accused Presidency officials of concealing malpractices by the President’s relatives with the recent attempts by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) to gag a suspect who claimed to have engaged in illegal transactions with one Mariatu, a sister to the First Lady.

2019: Sowore Blasts Organizers For Excluding Him From Peace Accord, Presidential Debate

Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, has expressed displeasure as he was not called to sign the Peace Accord agreement of presidential candidates ahead of 2019 election.

President Muhammadu Buhari as well as some other presidential candidates had signed the agreement yesterday, Naija News reports.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has disclosed plans to meet with all stakeholders including registered political parties to brainstorm on the controversies trailing the Electoral Act and how to make the 2019 elections credible.

Ogun State Governorship: Amosun Will Support Me When The Time Comes – Abiodun

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ogun StatePrince Dapo Abiodun, has expressed the confidence that aggrieved members of the party will resolve their differences before the 2019 elections.

He noted that Governor Ibikunle Amosun will kick-start the party’s campaign when the time comes, adding that the governor would also use the event to raise his hand as the party’s flag bearer for the March election.

The Social Democratic Party has decided not to support Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, as adopted by the Coalition of United Political Parties.

In a statement by the National Publicity Secretary of the SDP, Mr Alfa Mohammed, in Abuja on Tuesday at the end of the party’s expanded caucus meeting, SDP noted that Atiku’s emergence did not measure up to the established standard which was assented to by the political parties that formed the alliance.

The Nigerian Labour Congress has insisted the new minimum wage must be implemented and paid to workers before the 2019 general elections.

Electoral Act: APC Reps Will Stop Override Of Buhari’s Veto, Gbajabiamila Says

The Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus in the House would scuttle any plan to override President Muhammadu Buhari’s veto of the 2018 Electoral (Amendment) Bill.
