BON, NEDG Unveil Parties For 2019 Presidential Debate

The Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON) and the Nigerian Elections Debate Group (NEDG) have invited just five political parties, to participate in the 2019 vice presidential and presidential debates.

The parties are Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN), Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN), All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Young Progressives Party (YPP).

This is according to a statement signed by the Executive Secretary of the NEDG, Eddi Emesiri,

The presidential candidates for each of the political parties invited for the debate are Oby Ezekwesili (ACPN), Fela Durotoye (ANN), Muhammadu Buhari (APC), Atiku Abubakar (PDP) and Kingsley Moghalu (YPP).

Naija News recalls 73 candidates are expected to contest the 2019 presidential election in Nigeria which means the likes of Omoyele Sowore of the African Alliance Congress; Donald Duke of the Social Democratic Party; and a host of others have been excluded from the debate.

The Vice Presidential debate will hold from 7pm at the congress hall of the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja on Friday, December 14, 2018, while the presidential debate will hold on Saturday, January 19, 2019.
