1. President Buhari to hold special FEC meeting on Friday

Another Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting was today scheduled for Friday to deliberate on the 2019 budget proposal.

Mr. Femi Adesina stated that Friday’s special FEC meeting would endorse and approve the 2019 draft budget for onward submission to the National Assembly for its approval.

2. Get ready for a long strike, ASUU tell members

Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, President, Academic Staff Union of Universities, has admonished members of the union to be prepared up for a long strike.

Ogunyemi enjoined ASUU members “to be on the watch and prepare for a long drawn out struggle to salvage the University System”.

3. Aisha Buhari distances self from suspected fraudster arrested by DSS

President Muhammadu Buhari’s wife, Aisha Buhari, has reacted to Department of State Services’ (DSS) investigation of a fraud suspect who claimed to be working with the knowledge of the first lady’s sister.

Through her spokesman, Suleiman Haruna, on Wednesday, Aisha noted that she was not involved in the case and the suspect is not an associate of hers.

4. Action Alliance says Uche Nwosu is their Imo governorship candidate, rejects Okolienta

Son-in law to Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, Uche Nwosu, who freshly dumped the ruling All Progressive Congress for the Action Alliance Party has received the support of his new camp.

The Chairman of AA in Imo State, Chief Anthony Uchendu Ahaneku, said Nwosu is the authentic and recognised candidate of the party for the 2019 governorship election in the state.

5. Oshiomhole says Obasanjo and Atiku will be divinely punished in 2019

National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC has launched a fierce attack on former President Olusegun Obasanjo over his support to Atiku Abubakar who is the presidential candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party PDP in the 2019 general elections.

According to Oshiomhole, both Obasanjo and Atiku would be divinely punished at the polls in February, saying Atiku’s political infidelity would be his main downfall at the polls.

6. Ambode’s commissioner dumps APC for PDP

The Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources in Lagos State, Mr Olawale Oluwo, has dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) for opposition PDP.

Mr Oluwo made the announcement in a resignation letter dated December 3 and addressed to the APC Chairman in the state, he explained that he took the decision as a result of the events played out at the party’s state primary held in October.

7. Tinubu declines leading Buhari’s 2019 presidential campaign

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, national leader of the ruling party All Progressive Congress (APC), has reportedly turned down a call by the party’s leadership to head President Muhammadu Buhari‘s national campaign for the 2019 presidential elections in all states of the federation, Daily Independent reports.

According to a credible party source, Tinubu, who said he fully supports the re-election of President Buhari, said he would do everything possible to ensure the reelection of Buhari, but wants to concentrate on the south-west region.

8. Aisha Buhari Reveals Two Strong Men Within Cabal Slowing Down President Buhari’s Administration

Mrs. Aisha Buhari, wife of Nigeria’s president, Muhammadu Buhari, on Wednesday, revealed that there are two men within Buhari’s administration who by their actions, are constituting an hindrance to her husband’s performance.

Mrs Buhari described the two individuals as clogs in the wheels of President Buhari’s administration, saying her husband would have performed better if not for these individuals.

9. Hundred Persons Feared Missing As Boko Haram Launches Fresh Attack On Borno State Community

The Islamic State in West Africa (ISWA), loyal faction of the Boko Haram sect, attacked Gudumbali, Guzamala local government area of Borno state, on Tuesday.

The insurgents moved on the village around 7pm and engaged in a gun battle with troops of the Nigerian Army stationed in the area.

Hundreds of residents fled into bushes for safety as the exchange of gunshots reportedly lasted for hours.

10. Ayodele Fayose involved in road accident on 3rd mainland bridge

The immediate past Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose was on Wednesday, involved in a motor accident on the 3rd Mainland bridge in Lagos state.

The former governor and PDP chieftain has already been moved to the hospital and is responding well to treatment.
