Kim Kardashian Files For Divorce From Kanye West
Reality star, Kim Kardashian West has filed for divorce from her husband and rapper, Kanye West, Naija News reports.
It was gathered that the filing cites irreconcilable differences and Kardashian West seeks joint custody of the couple’s four children. It also cites a prenuptial agreement regarding their assets.
The two, who married in a lavish wedding in Italy in 2014, have been living apart for some time. West has reportedly been living at their home in Wyoming, while Kardashian West has stayed in California with their children.
The couple met in the early 2000s, but it would be years before they became romantically involved. Both had high-profile relationships before they went public with their love in 2012.
West interviewed his wife for Vogue Arabia and asked her about the first time they met.
“This was before you released your first album and you were known as a music producer. I was really shy. You thought I was (singer) Brandy’s assistant, which I wasn’t,” Kardashian West recalled.
“Ever since you said that, it’s everywhere … like ‘Kim is Brandy’s assistant.’ I was her friend and stylist. (laughs). I thought you were attractive, nice, very charming, really funny, powerful — I was in awe of you, but I was really shy, quiet, and a little nervous, to be honest.”
West famously proposed to Kardashian by renting out a sports stadium and hiring an orchestra, as her family watched from nearby — all of which was documented and shared on the family’s popular E! reality series “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”
The couple has four children together. Daughter North was born in 2013, followed by a son, Saint, in 2015, daughter, Chicago, in 2018, and son, Psalm, in 2019.
The couple supported each other through tough times, including Kardashian West being robbed at gunpoint in Paris in 2016 during a home invasion.
In 2018, West tweeted his admiration for his wife.
“Gratitude and happiness best describe what my wife means to me,” he wrote. “I’m deeply grateful and purely happy.”
Kardashian West, for her part, has also often spoken out in defense of her husband, who has been open about his struggles with bipolar disorder and stirred controversy with his provocative tweets and political views.
Last summer, Kardashian West sought understanding from the public in a social media post.
“I understand Kanye is subject to criticism because he is a public figure and his actions at times can cause strong opinions and emotions,” she wrote in a statement shared on social media.
“He is a brilliant but complicated person who on top of the pressures of being an artist and a black man, who experienced the painful loss of his mother, and has to deal with the pressure and isolation that is heightened by his bi-polar disorder. Those who are close with Kanye know his heart and understand his words sometimes do not align with his intentions.”
Actress Ronke Odusanya’s Daughter To Undergo DNA Test Over Suspected Infidelity
A Magistrates Court in Lagos State has ordered that a DNA paternity test be conducted on the daughter of Nollywood actress, Ronke Odusanya.
The magistrate, M. O. Tanimola, gave the order on Wednesday, February 10, when the case was brought before her at Court 8, Samuel Ilori Court House, Ogba, Ikeja magisterial district, Lagos.
The estranged lovers welcomed their daughter in 2019. Ronke and her baby daddy, Olanrewaju Saheed, popularly known as Jago, are currently in court for several reasons including the welfare of their daughter, Oluwafifehanmi.
When the matter came up in court, Saheed, through his lawyer, requested the court to order a DNA test to ascertain the paternity of the child, on the grounds of suspicion of infidelity.
The actress and her lawyer agreed to the request on the condition that the DNA fees and other bills be footed by Saheed. They also pleaded with the court to ensure it is a court-supervised DNA test.
Tanimola, ruling, decided on an undisclosed hospital on Lagos Island for the test to be done, and for the results to be sent directly to the court.
She adjourned the case till March 31, for further hearing.
Recall that in December 2020, both parties were enmeshed in a messy separation scandal that was broken by a popular Instagram gossip blog.
Among other things, the blog alleged that the famous actress ‘‘ruined the father of her child, financially by making him sell off his assets to fulfill her luxurious desires.”
Responding to the allegations, the movie star said in a post on her Instagram page that the rumours were untrue but she had chosen to remain calm as the truth would eventually reveal itself.
“While my silence will be taken for cowardice, I will be calm because the truth always reveals itself. I can defend myself but I won’t want my daughter to grow up reading such irritating and fact-less information. The court of social media has always been myopic and manipulative.
“Remember you did not make me, you cannot break me. Bank statements can reveal who has been receiving money from who and for what. Investigate before publishing. For the platform used for peddling such absurdity, seeds sown will surely germinate,” she said.
2023: Veteran Actor Pete Edochie Endorses Son For Presidency [Video]
Veteran Nollywood actor and elder statesman, Pete Edochie, has endorsed his son, Yul Edochie for the 2023 presidential race.
“My Father Chief Pete Edochie endorses my 2023 Presidential ambition… God Almighty, take absolute control,” he captioned the post shared on his Instagram page on Thursday.
In the less than 3-minute footage, Pete disclosed that the endorsement follows ceaseless pleas from young people asking him to openly back his son’s bid for the country’s highest political office.
The veteran actor also expressed confidence that his son posses the right values and drive to steer the country forward.
He said while he is not interested in politics, he would not hold back his support for Yul who has decided to delve into it.
“My values are very strong. I have my own children and they are very strong in that regard too. I am not one to be involved in politics. But you see, not all your children are bound to follow you,” he said.
“One of my sons, who incidentally is an actor, has decided that he wants to be a politician. Most of the youngsters have been bugging my phone asking me to endorse my son that they want him as president and l get amused. But they keep insisting daddy, we want Yul to be the president of this country.
“We like him. He is disciplined, sympathetic, he believes a lot in people. They have bothered me so much that today, I’m hereby present him to you. He has my blessing. He has my endorsement.
“Any day he decides to veer off from the discipline under which he was raised, l will withdraw him from the race. It shall be well with you son. Since it has been your ambition to go into politics and the desire to run for the presidency of this country, may the good Lord assist you, protect and direct you.”
In 2018, the actor turned politician had declared interest to run for the office of the presidency in the 2019 election under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) party.
He later abandoned the ambition — a decision which according to him was arrived at “after due consultation”.
Prior to his presidential bid, he had contested for the Anambra state governorship election in 2017 under the flag of the Democratic Peoples Congress (DPC) but lost after securing only 145 votes.
Yul was appointed the senior special assistant on creative and entertainment media to the governor of Anambra state, Willie Obiano, in 2018.
The actor, however, resigned a few months later and defected from APGA to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He stated that his decision was in a bid to support the presidential ambition of Atiku Abubakar, former vice-president, who was the candidate of the party.
