1. President Buhari attends climate change seminar in Poland

President Muhammadu Buhari is currently in Krakow, Poland, attending the 24th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP24) under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

The conference is slated for between December 2 and 4.

2. Labour party presidential candidate resigns to support President Buhari

Ahead of the 2019 general election, Sam Nwanti, the front-line presidential candidate on the Labor Party (LP) platform, withdrew from the presidential race to support the reelection of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Nwanti revealed that he had retired from the race to strengthen President Buhari’s candidacy for re-election in the 2019 elections while preparing for the presidential race of 2023.

3. Atiku not travelling to the US, set to begin 2019 campaigns

Allies of the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, refuted claims that the former vice president was leaving the country for the United States.

It was reported that Atiku went to the UK last Thursday, but returned to the country to begin his presidential campaign Sunday in Sokoto.

4. Goodluck Jonathan says he can’t take responsibility for Chibok girls abduction

Former President, Goodluck Jonathan, has stated that he can not take responsibility for the abduction of Chibok school girls in 2014 by Boko Haram.

The terrorist group abducted over 276 students from the Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok, Borno State in 2014.

5. Buhari finally breaks silence on being cloned, Jibril of Sudan

President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday, responded to claims that he was cloned and replaced by one Jibril from Sudan.

Buhari, who was speaking in Poland, stated that some people were hoping he would die during his ill health, pronouncing that he would celebrate his 76th birthday soon.

6. Atiku camp denies Governor Wike’s resignation from PDP campaign team

PDP presidential candidate has said his campaign council is intact and working.

He said this in reaction to the rumours that Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has resigned his appointment as the South-South zonal coordinator of the Peoples Democratic Party, presidential campaign council.

7. 73 political parties to field presidential candidates in 2019

Ahead of the elections next year, a total of 73 political parties fielded candidates as the deadline for withdrawal and substitution of candidates for the election draws near. Independent National Electoral Commission disclosed.

The National Chairman of INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, disclosed this at the opening ceremony of a two-day capacity building workshop for journalists on Friday in Abuja.

8. OPC leader, Fredrick Faseun dies at 83

Dr. Frederick Fasehun, the founder of the Oodua People’s Congress has died at the age of 83.

This development was made known on Saturday by the media aide to Fasehun, Mr. Adeoye Jolaosho, in Lagos.

He disclosed that the OPC leader died at about 11. am on Saturday at the intensive care unit of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital Ikeja.

9. Lebanese citizen arrested with over $2m cash at Abuja airport

A Lebanese national, named Abbas Lakis has been apprehended by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged money laundering.

He was arrested with different foreign currencies valued at a combined N940m at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, following intelligence report that he had on him, undeclared huge sums of monies aboard the Egypt Airline bringing him from the Kano Airport en route Lebanon.

10. Super Falcons win AWCON 2018 tournament

The 2018 African Women’s Cup of Nations, has been won by the Super Falcons of Nigeria who defeated South Africa at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.

The Nigeria defended their title and clinched the ninth title in a match decided via penalties after regulation time ended in a goalless draw.
