The presidential candidate of the Labor Party resigns, Declare support for buhari

Ahead of the 2019 general election, Sam Nwanti, the front-line presidential candidate on the Labor Party (LP) platform, withdrew from the presidential race to support the reelection of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The American detective from Mbieri, in the Mbaitoli district of Imo state, abandoned his ambition during an interactive session with journalists in Owerri.

Fake News Threatens National Security, Operations – Buratai

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai says fake news not only poses threat to national security but makes the ongoing  counter terrorism operation in the North East more difficult.

In an interview with Newsmen in Maiduguri, Buratai urged Nigerians to be patriotic and wary of false information, as well as condemn those behind it.

Boko Haram: IGP Deploys 2000 Officers, Sniffer Dogs To The North East

The Inspector General of Police, Idris Ibrahim has deployed additional Two Thousand (2000) Police Mobile Force (PMF) and Counter Terrorism Units (CTU) Personnel of the Force and the Sniffer Dog Sections to the North East in the last few days for purely Military Duties to fight Boko Haram insurgency under the Operation Lafiya Dole.

This new deployment is consistent with Section 4 of the Police Act and Regulations which specifies the general duties of the Nigeria Police Force as follows: The police shall be employed for the prevention and detection of crime, the apprehension of offenders, the preservation of law and order, the protection of life and property and the due enforcement of all laws and regulations with which they are directly charged, and shall perform such military duties within or outside Nigeria as may be required of them by or under the authority of this or any other Act.

Federal Government Announces New Moves To Stop Corruption In Revenue Agencies

Following a forensic audit of 15 government-owned companies that revealed that N8.1 trillion was not remitted into the Federation Account between 2010 and 2015, the Nigerian government has announced new measures to ensure that all revenue accrued to the government from these enterprises are effectively collected, Naija News understands.

Earlier this year, a forensic report by auditing firm, KPMG, showed that the Government Owned Enterprises (GOEs) as they are officially known did not remit N8.1 trillion within a period of five years, which the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, in May, said was equivalent to the country’s yearly national budget.

26 Lawmakers Dump APC For APM In Ogun State

No fewer than 26 lawmakers from the Ogun State House of Assembly have dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress,APC  for the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).

Speaking with newsmen today in Abeokuta, the spokesman of aggrieved aspirants, Lamidi Olatunji said they “have come to inevitable conclusion to actualise their ambitions in APM.”
