Super Falcons head coach, Thomas Dennerby, is confident that his team will scale through in their match against Cameroon in the semi-final on Tuesday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Falcons, had a bad start in the competition, but recorded a great win against the Shepolopolo of Zambia and Nzalang Nacional of Equatorial Guinea in the last two games after a shock 1-0 loss to South Africa in their first outing.

While the match against Cameroon remands a challenge for the defending champions, Dennerby remains worried on the chances of his team making it to the final.

This is going to be a tough test but I think we have a really good chance of beating Cameroon. We have worked on our mistakes against South Africa, every game has its own life and we will approach this game on its own merit,” Dennerby stated during his interaction with the media on Tuesday.

We are preparing like we always have, our target has always been securing a World Cup ticket first, and we are focused on that.

“Every head coach is always under pressure but it’s good I’m an old man so I can deal with it. We have to approach the game with all seriousness otherwise we could end up surprised.”

The coach rejected the claims that some of his players are too old and not relevant in the team again.

“I don’t agree with that, my job is to pick the best players and I don’t discriminate on age,” he said.

Cameroon, meanwhile, have promised to avenge their 1-0 defeat in the final of the competition when they hosted it two years ago.

The winner of the match is guaranteed a place in the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.
