Lawmakers Accuse Police Of Supporting Impunity

The Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly is seeking the immediate removal of Musa Kimo as the commissioner of police in charge of the state.

The lawmakers accused Kimo of aiding a faction of lawmakers consisting of sacked lawmakers to gain entry into the state assembly chambers on Tuesday.

The House also directed that the Police should arrest the impostors, including Godwin Ukpong and the sacked lawmakers for investigation.

As earlier reported by Naija News, there was chaos in the state house of assembly as suspected thugs and armed police men invaded the complex early on Tuesday.

Cars have been reportedly burnt by some thugs suspected to be loyal to the sacked lawmakers.

Recall the Commissioner of Police, Musa Kimo only assumed duties last Friday, November 23rd 2018 replacing John Abang who served as CP for less than a month.
