1. Buhari receives security report from NIPPS participants

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday met with the Senior Executive Course 40 of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Plateau State.

The weekly Federal Executive Council meeting could therefore not hold due to the President’s meeting with the course participants from NIPPS.

2. Two house of rep members dump APC

Two members of the House of Representatives on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) earlier today announced their defection from the party.

The two lawmakers; Babatunde Kolawole who represents Akoko North East/ West Federal Constituency of Ondo State and Mukaila Kazzim representing Abeokuta North/ Obafemi-Owode/ Odeda Federal Constituency of Ogun State, made their resignations known in separate letters to the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara.

3. Court picks December 6 to rule on investigations into Ganduje bribery video

A Kano High Court has fixed Thursday, December 6, 2018 to rule on whether the state House of Assembly has the power to investigate the bribery allegation against Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

The National Coordinator of Lawyers for Sustainable Democracy in Nigeria, an NGO, Mr. Mohammed Zubair, had filed a suit challenging the court’s constitutional right to investigate the bribery allegation.

4. Michael Adikwu, major suspect in Offa bank robbery dies in Police custody

The principal suspect in the Offa bank robbery, Michael Adikwu, a dismissed police constable is dead.

Kwara State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Kamaldeen Ajibade, SAN disclosed this at a Kwara State High Court today, when five of the six principal suspects were brought to court.

5. Okorocha absent as Buhari meets with Ekweremadu, South East governors

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday met behind closed doors with Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, four Southeast governors and Deputy Governor of Anambra at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

It is reported that the Southeast governors, who were led by the Deputy Senate President, arrived the State House at about 4.20p.m.

6. Fashola says four years not enough for APC to implement change agenda

Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola has clarified to Nigerians that the change promised by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to Nigerians didn’t have a time frame.

In his clarification while speaking at the inauguration of President Muhammadu Buhari’s 2019 campaign in Ikeja, Lagos State, he said the party never promised that the change agenda would be achieved within a specific time frame.

7. Jonathan accuses some PDP governors of working against him in 2015

The immediate past president of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, during the presentation and launching of his new book “My Transition Hour” revealed how some governors of the then ruling party, Peoples Democratic Party, worked against his re-election in 2015.

The former President also disclosed that he was confident of winning the election based on his achievements.

8. Buhari appoints Musa Abaji as Supreme Court judge

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Musa Abaji as a Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

This was contained in an announcement via a letter he sent to the Senate on Tuesday which was read by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

9. APC says money collected by Ganduje was for campaign purposes

A high-ranking member of the Kano state chapter of APC claims the alleged dollar bribes received by Governor Ganduje were donations made for political campaigns in the state.

The national secretariat of the All Progressive Congress (APC) also said it would not substitute his name in 2019 election.

10. Security operatives take over Akwa Ibom state house of assembly

The police and other security operatives in Akwa Ibom State have sealed off the premises of the state’s House of Assembly.

The development is said to be connected to recent decisions by some lawmakers to dump the PDP for the APC, a development which has been generating controversies in the state.
