Lalong Sends N15.2bn Supplementary Budget To Assembly

The governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong, on Thursday, sent a supplementary budget estimate to the state House of Asembly for approval.

The Speaker of the house, Joshua Madaki, who read the request to his house members during the plenary on Thursday, stated that it was in accordance with section 121 of the 1999 constitution as amended.

Madaki, revealed that the #15.2 supplementary budget which is more than #6.3 billion would go into recurrent expenditure while capital expenditure would gulp N8.9 billion.

The speaker claimed that the Governor as adding that the supplementary budget became imperative to complement the implementation of the over N127.5 billion earlier appropriated for the 2018 fiscal year.

The governor was also quoted as urging the assembly to consider and expedite the passage of the supplementary budget into law.

The House unanimously approved November 27, for its second reading.
