1. Security operatives search Atiku’s plane

The Department of State Services (DSS) has reported searched the aircraft that conveyed the Presidential candidate of the People Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar back to Nigeria on Sunday.

It was gathered that the private jet conveying Atiku from Dubai landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at 1:30am, into the waiting arms of the security operatives.

2. Oshiomhole denies visiting Tinubu in London

The All Progressive Congress (APC) National Chairman Adams Oshiomhole has refuted claims that he met with the National leader of the party Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, in London over his ordeal with the Department of State Services, DSS.

The former Edo State governor made this known in Sunday after attending an interdenominational service to mark Governor Godwin Obaseki’s second year in office in Benin, the Edo state capital.

3. National Assembly can’t be blamed for budget delay – Olujimi

Senate Minority Leader, Senator Biodun Olujimi has advised the Presidency to desist from playing politics with sensitive issues like the budgeting process.

Senator Olujimi noted that a recent statement credited to President Muhammadu Buhari blaming the National Assembly for the annual delay in passage of the Appropriation Act was not only unfortunate but only shows that the Executive arm is not saying the truth.

4. Boko Haram steals 200 cows, 300 sheep and goats in Borno state

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has disclosed that Boko Haram terrorists invaded Bale Shuwa Vilage in Jere Local Government area of Borno State on a deliberate robbery mission on Saturday night where they stole cows, sheep and goats.

The NEMA’s Northeast Zonal Coordinator, Bashir Garga made the disclosure in a brief statement in Maiduguri.

5. Oshiomhole confirms visit to DSS office

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has said his recent meeting with the Department of State Services, DSS, was a mere routine conversation that held in the interest of national security.

Oshiomhole said he wasn’t hired by the DSS and cannot be requested by the DSS to resign or to retain the job as widely reported in the media.

6. INEC omits Tambuwal’s name from list of candidates in Sokoto state

The name of Sokoto State Governor, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, was not in the list of governorship candidates from the state displayed by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Sunday.

Governor Tambuwal was one of the aspirants who contested for the presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, at the party’s elective National convention.

7. Army kills top Boko Haram commanders, reclaim Borno community

The Nigeria Army on Sunday said its troops had killed two Boko Haram commanders and reclaimed some communities in the ongoing clearance operations in Borno.

The army on its twitter handle, said that the commanders identified as Abu Rajal and Tuja Sa’inna Banki, were killed in the operation.

8. EFCC moves to extradite Alison-Madueke back to Nigeria

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has disclosed that it has set in motion the process for the extradition of former Minister of Petroleum, Mrs Deziani Alison-Madueke from the United Kingdom.

The acting public relation officer of the agency, Mr Tony Orilade, made this revelation in an interview on Sunday in Abuja.

9. Audu Ogbeh faults US report on Nigeria’s rice importation

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh, has described the report published to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) stating that Nigeria imported about three million tonnes of rice in 2018 has “mischievous”.

Ogbeh revealed that no Letter of Credit (LC) for importation of rice have been issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria in 2018.

10. Aviation minister reveals why Atiku’s plane was searched

The Minister of State for Aviation, Hadi Sirika, has revealed why a search was carried out on the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar.

The Minister said that even though Atiku’s travel bag was searched, the former Vice President was accorded his respect.
