DSS Reportedly Search Atiku’s Plane

The Department of State Services (DSS) has reported searched the aircraft that conveyed the Presidential candidate of the People Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar back to Nigeria on Sunday.

The spokesman of the Presidential candidate, Paul Ibe made this development known to the press.

It was gathered that the private jet conveying Atiku from Dubai landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at 1:30am, into the waiting arms of the security operatives.

TheCable understands the combined security team, who said they had an arrest warrant to search the PDP presidential candidate, were looking for foreign currencies.

It was, however, gathered the operatives found nothing implicating during the operation.

Atiku in his tweet alleged that the search was carried out by the government to intimidate him.

“I arrived to Abuja this morning to a search by agents of the state, aimed at intimidating me and my staff,” he wrote.

“I am committed to building a Nigeria where no citizen is intimidated by agents of state who are paid to protect them.”

Naija News has earlier reported that the senator representing Bayelsa West, Mr. Ben Murry Bruce raised alarm on the alleged that the former vice president was harassed on arrival to the country from this two weeks stay in Dubai.
