President Buhari Congratulates Paul Biya On His Inauguration For A 7th Term As Cameroonian President

President Muhammadu Buhari has felicitated with his Cameroonian counterpart, Paul Biya on his 7th term inauguration as President of Cameroon.

Buhari extended his congratulatory message to Biya in a statement on Tuesday, made available to Naija News by Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President (Media & Publicity).

“President Muhammadu Buhari felicitates with President Paul Biya on his inauguration Tuesday for another term of office following his victory in the October 7, 2018 presidential election.”

“The Nigerian leader commends his Cameroonian counterpart for sustaining the long history of good neighbourliness with Nigeria and cooperating in the current push against Boko Haram insurgents.”

“As the Cameroonian leader begins a new tenure, President Buhari wishes him success and looks forward to enhanced relations between the governments and peoples of both countries.”

As earlier reported by Naija News, Biya won 71.3 % of votes to return as President of the West African country.

President Biya has been in power since 1982 and he is 85 years old.
