Gov. Bagudu Speaks On Intended NLC Strike

Gov. Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi state, has joined in the appeal to the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and its affiliate unions to stop its proposed strike action slated to commence tomorrow

Gov Bagudu said that the Union should shelve its scheduled strike in the interest of the citizenry.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Alhaji Abubakar Dakingari,  made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi today, the Governor urged the workers to await the report of the tripartite committee on minimum wage and President Mohammadu Buhari’s decision on the wage increase.

“I want to assure the Nigerian workers at all levels of the government’s readiness to promote their welfare. The government is willing and ready to do everything possible to uplift workers’ welfare,’’ he said.

Naija News recalls the organized labour has threatened to commence an indefinite nationwide strike as from Tuesday except government agrees to implement N30, 000 as the new minimum wage.
