Mr Ibrahim Emokpaire, a former All Progressives Congress(APC) national chairmanship aspirant, has called on members of the party across the federation to support Mr Adams Oshiomhole, the party`s national chairman.

Emokpaire made the call in a statement on Monday in Abuja, adding that Oshiomhole deserved the support of APC members to enable him to enthrone internal democracy in the party.

“Oshiomhole deserves our support. I enjoin all party members to come together and support him, because we unanimously elected him on June 23, 2018”.

Emokpaire noted that Oshiomhole had given the APC a strong leadership and had been working to enthrone internal democracy in the party since he assumed office.

He alleged that the crisis that followed the party`s primaries in some states, may not be unconnected with the activities of those who advocated for the extension of the tenure of the party`s last National Working Committee (NWC).

“We can see the handwork of the agents of tenure elongation at play, the same advocates of tenure elongation are mostly behind the removal of the party National Chairman.

“Going forward, I will appeal to those demanding for the removal of Comrade Oshiomhole to sheath their sword and allow peace to reign within the party.
“They should not play into the hands of our opposition who are regrouping to take over power and completely ruin our nation of what is left,” he said.

He appealed to Oshiomhole to however, put in place a reconciliation committee to reconcile aggrieved party members ahead of the 2019 general election, adding that he should not to be distracted, but to remain focused.

Emokpaire noted that the APC led Federal Government had achieved great feat, adding that the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration had demonstrated to Nigerians that good governance was possible.

This, he said, the administration had achieved through prudent management of available resources as against the looting of our common patrimonies by past governments.
