Atlético Madrid draw Leganés 1 – 0

Atletico Madrid squandered on Saturday a great opportunity to take on, even if provisionally, the leadership of the Spanish Championship. The team led by coach Diego Simeone defeated Leganés 1 to 0 until the 36 minutes of the second half, when he gave the tie, in a general failure of his defense.

With the stumble away from home, Atlético reached 20 points and was only one behind Barcelona, ​​who is 21 and will visit Rayo Vallecano later on Saturday. The draw opened the possibility of Atletico losing the vice-lead. Alavés, Sevilla and Espanyol can take the position until the end of the round. Leganés are just 18th, on the edge of the relegation zone, with nine points.

Still without Diego Costa, injured, Atletico only managed to open the scoring on Saturday in the second half, in the 23rd minute. Griezmann hit a low cross over the bar, almost in the middle of the goal, and had the goalkeeper Ivan Cuellar’s shot to strike the net.
