1. Former minister, Tony Anenih is dead

Chief Tony Anenih, a former Minister of Works and Housing and chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party is dead.

He was aged 85. He died, Sunday afternoon, at the Cedar Crest hospital in Abuja, where he had been on admission since a week ago.

2. Nnamdi Kanu calls for boycott of 2019 elections

Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, on Saturday, during a live broadcast aired on Radio Biafra Facebook page criticized the South East governors and Ohaneze Ndigbo for conniving with those he called “Fulanis” and they tried to “assassinate” him at different times and locations.

He also urged IPOB members to boycott of the 2019 general elections.

3. Governor El-Rufai reviews Kaduna curfew

The Kaduna State Government has relaxed the curfew in Kaduna metropolis and environs effective from today, Monday.

Samuel Aruwan, spokesman to Governor Nasir El-Rufai, in a statement, explained that from today, Monday, October 29 2018, the curfew would be relaxed from 6am to 5pm, daily.

4. NNPC denies spending money on Buhari’s campaign

Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), has refuted claims that it group managing director, Maikanti Baru approved money transfer to President Muhammadu Buhari campaign organisation.

The spokesperson of the Corporation, Ndu Ughamadu, denied the claim in a press statement on the matter.

5. Navy deny having any deals with oil bunkerers

The Nigerian Navy has denied the latest allegations that some of its personnel collected huge sums of bribes from illegal bunkerers to operate freely in Bille coastal communities in Rivers.

An online media had recently released a damming report and video that accused the navy and other security agencies of colluding with illegal oil refiners in that area.

6. NAF repels Boko Haram terrorists attack in Gashigar

The Nigerian Air Force , working in concert with the Nigerien Air Force provided support for Nigerian ground forces at the weekend and thwarted a Boko Haram Terrorist (BHT) attack at Gashigar in Borno.

Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, in a statement on Sunday said the operation was carried out on Saturday.

7. Aircraft carrying 188 people crash off shore

Domestic flight of Indonesian low-cost airline Lion Air crashed Monday morning off the Indonesian coast shortly after taking off from Jakarta.

The plane reportedly crashed into the water, and search and rescue efforts are still in progress.

8. Presidency attacks those demanding Buhari’s WAEC certificate

The Presidency has berated the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for insisting that President Muhammadu Buhari submit copies of his West African Examinations Council, WAEC, certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, as a requirement to participate in the 2019 presidential election.

Mr Femi Adesina Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, described PDP and those making a fuss of the situation as idle.

9. Leicester football club owner killed in helicopter accident

Thai businessman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, after the Leicester meeting on Saturday, was involved in a helicopter crash near the stadium.

The Thai billionaire died in the accident along with some others with him in the aircraft.

10. President Buhari mourns Chief Tony Anenih

President Muhammadu Buhari extends heartfelt condolences to the Anenih family on the death of its beloved patriarch and elder statesman, Chief Anthony Anenih.

President Buhari also commiserates with the government and people of Edo State and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on the passing of their illustrious son and former Chairman, Board of Trustees.
