Wike Wants Buhari To Avoid Election Rigging

Governor Nyesom Wike’s political platform, the Grassroot Development Initiatives, GDI has threatened to mobilize Nigerian youths, women, professional bodies and other interest groups to stage a nationwide protest should, 2019 Presidential and Governorship election be rigged in favour of any particular person.

The Rivers State Governor who spoke through GDI Secretary General, Samuel Nwanosike,  at Igwuruta-Ali in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State during the inauguration of GDI Ikwerre chapter office, said, the Nigerian youths in particular will resist any attempt to rig both Presidential and Governorship election in Rivers State.

He urged President Muhammadu Buhari to leave behind an indelible legacy by allowing the will and wishes of Nigerians to prevail by conducting a free and fair elections.

He said the group is presently carrying out door to door campaign to convince the electorates to see good reasons why they should vote for both Atiku Abubakar as President of Nigeria and Governor Nyesom Wike as Governor of Rivers State saying that the group will not accept anything less than a free and fair election where the votes of every Nigerian will count.

He said “We are presently on door to door campaign to sensitize the electorates on the need to vote for Atiku Abubakar, Governor Wike and all the candidates of PDP in the forthcoming 2019 general elections”

“We want President Muhammadu Buhari to conduct free, fair and credible elections. All we are asking for is a credible election where the votes of every Nigerian will count”

” We will mobilize the youths, men, women and all interest groups to protest any attempt to rig the 2019 elections. We will resist any plan to rig the 2019 elections.”

“The only good thing President Muhammadu Buhari can do for us is to conduct a free and fair election. That is the only legacy he can leave behind”.

“Nigerians are yearning for change and the only way the change they are yearning for can be actualized is to allow their votes to be counted. We will not allow anything less than a free, fair and credible election.”

He said that the group stands for truth and would make sure truth always prevail in the Nigerian politics.
