Reports coming in from Edo State House of Assembly has revealed that the Deputy Speaker of the House, Mr Victor Edoror, has been impeached.

The impeached deputy speaker was reported replaced with former Speaker, Mr Justin Okonobor.

The development has led to disorderliness in the Assembly Complex as security operatives shot in the air to disperse angry supporters of the Edoror who allegedly attempted to stop the impeachment.

A lawmaker, representing Oredo East, Mr. Osaigbovo Iyoha, who spoke with Punch has claimed that the impeachment notice was signed by 16 members, out of the 24 lawmakers in the House.

Edoror, representing Esan Central constituency had been accused by the lawmakers of corruption, high-handedness, and desperation.

However, it was learnt that the impeachment maybe connected to the alleged plan by some All Progressives Congress members from the Edo Central senatorial district to remove the Speaker, Mr Kabiru Adjoto, who is from the Edo North.
