Police Arrest 3 Suspects Over Businesswoman’s Killing In Ilorin

The three suspected killers of Mrs Raheedat Jimoh have been apprehended by the Nigeria Police in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The Deputy Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Aremu Adeniran, made this disclosure while fielding question from newsmen in Ilorin on Thursday.

He said that Aminu, the principal suspect on July 7, and other suspeets still at large stormed the shop of the deceased at No. 2 Jimoh Bolanta street, Kulende Ilorin, Kwara and killed her.

He listed the suspects as: Ibrahim Aminu, 18, from Shagari Local Government Area of Sokoto State, Principal Suspect, who allegedly fired the shot that killed the victim.

Others are: Saadi Abubakar, 28, from Funtua Local Government Area of Katsina State, who allegedly bought the Barreta Pistol used to kill the victim and Oche Ellah, 35, a dismissed police sergeant, from Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue.

Adeniran revealed that a Barreta Pistol and 19 rounds of live ammunition were recovered from the suspects.

The Police spokesman said that the businesswoman was robbed of her possessions after she was shot dead by the robber before are daughters and housemaid.

“The deceased was immediately rushed to the hospital where she was confirmed dead from the bullet wound sustained from the gunshot,’’ he said.

He said that the arrest of the suspects followed a discreet investigation into the incident by Special Tactical Squad (STS) and Intelligence Response Team (IRT).

The spokesman said that Ellah admitted to have sold the Barreta Pistol to Abubakar for N50,000.

“Investigation is ongoing and efforts are being intensified to arrest other suspects still at large. They will all be arraigned in court on completion of investigation,” he said.
