JUST IN: NDLEA Declares Lagos Socialite Wanted Over Alleged Trafficking Of Illicit Drugs

An operative of National Drugs Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has been arrested by police in Kano state, for allegedly killing a middle-aged man, during a raid in Fagge area of Kano metropolis.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP. Magaji Majiya, confirmed the arrest in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano today.

Majiya said NDLEA operatives stormed a place in Fagge Local government, based on suspicion that it is an hideout of drug dealers.

“One of the NDLEA personnel misfired and shot the victim which led to his death”

He said during the incidence, the command sent a reinforcement to NDLEA office at Sahuci and Kantin Kwari area where the incident happened to keep the situation under control.

He said the action was necesiitated by the need to prevent hoodlums of taking advantage of the incident and attack the place

He said the operative that misfired the victim with gun was already helping the police in their investigation into the matter.

“The victim was confirmed dead by a doctor and the corpse had since been released to his relations for burial,” the PPRO said.

His words: “To demonstrate that heightened transparency and that no member of the Nigerian delegation had any conflict of interest that might influence their position on the treaty talks, Health Minister, Dr. Ehanire compelled them to sign a mandatory declaration of interest form and insisted this would be the practice henceforth. This is unprecedented.”
