The Super Eagles have steadied their cruise to the African Nation Cup in 2019, has the team beat Libya, 3-2, to lead the group table ahead of South Africa.

The Eagles team showed dominance during the early period of the game by finding the back of the net twice.

Odion Ighalo and Ahmed Musa were both sensational as they help the west African team lead with two goals, only for Libya’s Mohamed Zubya to reduce the deficit in the 35th minute.

The Libyan team came into the second half with a new zeal, with Ahmed Benali levelled for Libya after the team piled a lot of pressure on the Nigerians.

Ighalo redeemed the Nigerian team in the 81st minute, with a remarkable dribble and shot which found the back of the net.

The Super Eagles now have nine points, overtaking South Africa who played a goalless draw away at Seychelles earlier today.

Libya are third in the group with four points and Seychelles have had just a point.

The teams in the group will next meet on 16 November, with Nigeria travelling to South Africa, while Seychelles will host Libya.

Then next year March, Nigeria will host Seychelles, while Libya will host South Africa for the final matches of the group.

Naija News recalls that Ighalo was instrumental to the trashing of the North African country in the first leg of their encounter, as he scored thrice to ensure the 4-0 victory of the eagles at the Godswill Akpabio Staduim in Uyo
