1. President Buhari places 50 Nigerians on travel ban

President Muhammadu Buhari, has ordered security agencies to place high profile Nigerians who are directly affected by the Executive Order 6, under watch list.

The list is said to include 50 prominent Nigerians who have now been placed on international travel ban.

2. Police confirm one dead in attack on Tambuwal’s convoy

The Sokoto State Police Command has revealed that one person died after being hit by stray bullets following allegedly attacked on Gov. Aminu Tambuwal’s motorcade by hoodlums in Sokoto on Saturday.

The command Police Public Relation Officer, DSP Cordelia Nwawe, in a statement, also revealed that one person sustained gun shot injuries during the attack.

3. Governor Ganduje of Kano accused of receiving $5million bribe

An online news platform in Nigeria, DAILY NIGERIAN has released a video of what appears to be Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, hreceiving bribe amounting to about $5million from contractors in the state.

Contractors told the news platform that governor Ganduje personally receives from 15 to 25 percent kickbacks for every project executed in the state.

4. APC appoints Lanre Issa-Onilu as new spokesperson

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed a new national spokesperson for the party, Mr Lanre Issa-Onilu.

The National Working Committee of the APC on Friday evening announced the appointment and Yekini Nabena, has now reverted to his position as deputy national publicity secretary of the party.

5. Falana faults Buhari on executive order 6

Prominent lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN), has criticised the implementation of the Executive Order 6 recently issued by President Muhammadu Buhari, which placed travel ban on some prominent Nigerians.

Falana, in a press statement in Lagos on Sunday, admonished that the list be withdrawn with immediate effect.

6. Ohaneze youths declare support for Atiku’s presidential ambition

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youths (Worldwide) has applauded the the choosing of one of their own has the running mate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar.

Dr. Kingsley Dozie, the acting President of the socio-cultural group in a statement, said that assistance of Igbo youths would be made available to the PDP, having chosen Dr. Peter Obi as its presidential running mate.

7. Soldiers injured as Army kills Boko Haram terrorists in Borno

Three soldiers have sustained various degrees of injuries, during an effort to repel an ambush attack by the dreaded Boko Haram sect at Arege area of Borno State on Friday.

The Director of Public Relation in The Nigeria Army, Brigadier-General Texas Chukwu, in a statement, said the attack which happened in Maiduguri, caused the death of several of the insurgents, while others escaped with various degrees of injury during the encounter.

8. Red cross seek government help before Boko Haram kill more people

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has raised an alarm over the 24 hours deadline given by Boko Haram to eliminate another female staff held captive by the insurgents.

Mamadou Sow, Head of ICRC’s Operations in the Lake Chad Basin, in a statement on Sunday made an appeal to the Nigerian government, communities and individuals towards the release of two medical workers.

9. Atiku says executive order can lead to another recession

The Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar has reacted to the Executive Order 6 signed by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The former Vice President, who faulted the decision, said the signing of the Executive order can lead to another recession in Nigeria.

10. Nigeria play Libya in second leg of AFCON qualifiers

The Super Eagles of Nigeria would on Tuesday, play their Libyan counterparts in the second leg of their AFCON 2019 qualification match.

The Eagles on Saturday, defeated the Libyans 4-0 in first leg game at the Akwa Ibom stadium in Uyo.
