Edo Speaker Laments Increase In Teenage Sex Workers in The State

Mr. Kabiru Adjoto, the Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly has condemned the influx of commercial sex workers in the capital city of the state.

Adjoto made this observation known during a ministerial briefing with the Commissioner for Youths and Special Duties, Mr. Mika Amanokha in the House on Monday,

He decried the presence of indecently dressed women around the legislative quarters.

The Speaker decried the activities of commercial sex worker, mostly teenagers, who operate around quarters and hotels in the area from 9pm till dawn.

But the Speaker, who did not seem satisfied with the answer, asked, “What kind of business are they transacting? Youths going naked, between the ages of 17 and 18 (and) you say they are in business?”

However, the commissioner stated, “Mr. Speaker, I take very strong note of that. I will drive around the area to see what is going on there.”

Naija News understands that Edo State government was still make efforts to curb the rate of human trafficking in the state, as it accounts for the incidence of trafficked victims in the country.
