The Senate has approved the sum of N234.51 billion for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to prosecute the 2019 general elections.
The legislators approved the amount during sitting at Thursday’s plenary.

There had been initial fears in certain quarters that the extended recess of the national assembly would affect the approval of the fund, sparking fears that the 2019 elections might be postponed.
INEC had demanded N242 billion for the 2019 general election in the country.
