One Sani A. Usman of Kura local government, Kano state has been arraigned for alleged criminal breach of trust and cheating contrary to sections 317 and 322 of the Penal Code Law.

According to the police prosecutor, Inspector Jacob Yaduma, the accused, who was an employee of the complainant, had misappropriated the sum of N18m from the company he was entrusted to manage.

The police First Information Report (FIR) indicated that sometime in January, 2016, the accused, being an employee of the complainant, was entrusted with the responsibility of managing the company of the complainant in which he would make sales and disburse funds into different customers’ accounts.

However, according to the report, the accused converted and misappropriated the sum of N18m into his personal use.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges and the judge, Chief Magistrate Mukhtar Garba Dandago ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the matter to 29/10/2018 for hearing.
