Nigerian actor, Yemi Solade and a man identified as Papy Eleniyan, recently engaged in exchange of words on Instagram, after the actor declared his support for Sanwo-Olu Babajide, the All Progressives Congress candidate in Lagos State.

The actor had posted an image to celebrate the APC governorship candidate, and Eleniyan questioned him, stated that he thought the actor didn’t have an interest in politics.

Solade, while reacting told the man to hang himself and used unprintable words to qualify him, which further led to exchange of words between them.

While chatting with Sunday Scoop, the actor stated that though he was not interested in talking politics, he enjoyed what he was doing on social media.

He said:

I am a registered member of the APC and my post on Instagram was to support a friend. But for those who will not stay on their lanes and who need cheap publicity, it is necessary to put them in their place.”

According to him, he doesn’t know the things that worked against Governor Akinwunmi Ambode at the APC’s primary in Lagos State.

He added:

Also, I can’t say Sanwo-Olu will perform better as a governor. We should wait and see what happens. We are all stakeholders in Lagos State; I was born in Lagos and I live as well as work in Lagos.”
