1. Atiku Abubakar emerges 2019 PDP presidential candidate

Alh Atiku Abubakar on Sunday, won the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential primary to emerge the party candidate in the 2019 general elections.

Atiku polled 1532 votes far ahead of Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state who polled 693 votes.

The senate president Abubakar Bukola Saraki came third with a distant 317 votes.

2. APC affirms Buhari as its 2019 presidential candidate

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has affirmed President Muhammadu Buhari as its 2019 presidential candidate in the general elections.

The affirmation was done at the party’s national convention which held over the weekend.

3. Presidency denies Buhari’s involvement in punishment for APC members

The Presidency has denied that President Muhammadu Buhari had anything to do with a letter making the news that President had given a Governor or anyone else the authorization to punish APC aspirants who has their loyalty in question.

The Presidency made this clarification in a press statement by Buhari’s senior special assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu.

4. Okorocha’s in-law, Nwosu wins Imo APC governorship ticket

The son-in-law and former Chief of Staff to the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, as being voted the All Progressive Congress (APC) flag bearer for the governorship election in Imo State come 2019.

Nwosu won the contest out of eight aspirants with 269, 524 votes.

5. Aisha Buhari criticizes APC primary elections

Aisha Buhari, President Buhari’s wife, has criticized the manner APC primaries were conducted in some states.

The first lady who expressed her opinion via her twitter account, expressed disappointment with the way the primaries were handled in such states.

6. Police summon Saraki, Melaye, Bruce over PDP protests

The police has summoned the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Senator Dino Melaye and Senator Ben Murray-Bruce to appear for investigation for “disturbing public peace and violently hitting policemen to forcefully enter the Force Headquarters, Abuja.”

The invitation came a few hours after Saraki led notable national leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party in a protest to the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission on Friday, calling on the commission to declare Ademola Adeleke winner of the Osun State governorship election.

7. ACPN adopts Ezekwesili as its 2019 presidential candidate

The co-founder of the ‘Bring Back Our Girls’ movement, and former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili was on Sunday, adopted by the  Allied Congress Party of Nigeria as its 2019 presidential candidate.

Ganiu Galadima, the party’s chairman made this disclosure at the National Convention of the party today at Alexis hotel, Abuja, on Sunday.
