Confusion Trails Reported Death Of Ex-Oyo NURTW Leader, Tokyo

As the 2019 general elections approaches, members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) have been urged to resist any attempts by politicians to use them as political thugs during the polls.

The Union admonished its members to tell any politician who tries to woo them through dubious means to use his or family members to carry out the evil practice.

This was stated by the National President NURTW, Alhaji Najeem Usman Yasin, in Ilorin today during the official presentation of 30 vehicles to the branch chairmen of the union in Kwara State.

The presentation was at the instance of Aliyu Issa Ore-led Kwara State Council of the union as a reward for chairmen in local branches, who also received a sum of N40million in addition.

Yasin said the era of the transport union being associated with certain political parties was over, adding that the union was now known as a professional organisation.

He said members could belong to any political party they want and vote for the candidate they feel is right but admonished them not to fall for into bad politicians trap.

Yasin admonished members to stand by the image of the union at all times.

The NURTW boss, however appealed to them to take advantage of the forthcoming general elections and vote credible candidates at different levels that would cater and represent their interests.
