PDP Convention: Saraki Not Stepping Down For Atiku

Saraki May Have Secured Support Of Some Of The 37 Delegates In Port Harcourt.

‘The senate president, Bukola Saraki is not going to step down for  Former vice President Atiku Abubakar or any other aspirant,” the Abubakar Bukola Saraki Campaign Organisation confirmed today.

The spokesperson of the campaign organisation, Ilemona Onoja in a telephone chat with newsmen said Saraki has no intention of stepping down for anybody, stressing that the former governor of Kwara state has secured the support of majority of delegates and is certain of emerging as the presidential candidate of the PDP.

“There is no iota of truth in this. It is not true that I can confirm to you. The senate president is not going to step down for Atiku or any other aspirant,” he said.

There were media reports that people with special needs who were given 37 delegates to the PDP National Convention adopted Saraki as their candidate after his team met with them. To this Onoja said, “I can’t confirm that for now. Give me time to get back on this,” he said.

It will be recalled that Saraki reportedly had a meeting with some delegates in Port harcourt and came out in smiles, Naija News has now learnt that  Saraki met with delegates with special needs and secured their support.
